07 May Planting Event
The planting event has been organised by Enfield Council on the Common in the morning of 19th May. This is the first of two replanting events in the site area of Enfield Council’s sustainable urban drainage scheme on the Common for the benefit of houses on Parkgate Avenue and Parkgate Crescent. This event will focus on the wetland and marginal aquatic planting, and will also be using a range of wildflower and pond-edge seed mixes around the margins.
A second planting day is proposed for October or November, which is a more suitable time for introducing shrubs. This will help avoid the need for constant watering over the summer and reduce the risk of plant loss.
